It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald M. Shilling Sr., age 89, of Scranton, PA, who passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Don was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his four children: Holly and Don Marron, Don Shilling Jr., Penny and Chris Ward, and Kim and Kevin Sr. Brown; along with his 11 cherished grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Klouse and Norman Shilling; his sister, Florence; and his brothers, Bill, John, and Melvin.

Born in Heathville, PA, in 1936, Don served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the 1950s before becoming a dedicated entrepreneur. He was known for his strong work ethic, deep love for his family, and signature comedic dad jokes. Don continued working well into his early 80s, always keeping his hands and heart busy.

In retirement, he found joy in landscaping, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Phillies. Whether sharing a story, fixing something, or making others laugh, Don left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
