John N. Butts, 63, of Ararat Township, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA. He is survived by his wife the former, Carrie Towner.

Born September 30, 1955 in Susquehanna, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Anna Wiebel Butts.

John was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been employed as a quarryman in the local stone industry.

He is also survived by four children: Mindy Gorton and husband, Clyde of Thompson, PA, Amy Consla and husband, Jeremy of Thompson, PA, Christopher Olmstead and Carolyn Butts both at home; a granddaughter: Mariah Consla; three sisters: Lee Ann Hettig, Jackie Wade and Cheryl Fisher; two brothers: Charles "Bones" Butts and Louis Butts; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Robin Butts, Linda Fassett and Kathy Oney.

As per John's request, he was cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Cremation Care of NEPA.
