Michael Francis Murnin Sr., 64, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2021.

He was born on February 18,1957, to the late Francis Joseph and Frances Stella Konzolia Murnin.

He is survived by his wife Rosina Cicchelli Murnin; and his children: Shawn P. Murnin and wife, Samantha of Mankato, MN and Ashley B. Murnin of Carbondale. Michael also leaves behind his stepchildren: Jason Getting and wife, Jamie of East Stroudsburg, Jonathan Getting and wife, Amber of Greentown, Elizabeth Cooper of Cresco, and Angelina Getting of Virginia Beach, VA; and nine grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his first wife: Patricia Beth Ann Manley Murnin and son: Michael Francis Murnin Jr.

A lifelong resident of Vandling, Michael attended and graduated from St. Rose Catholic School in Carbondale, where he was a member of the basketball team. He was a dairy farmer in Lake Ariel and drove for ABF Freight System in Wilkes-Barre, until his disability. He enjoyed sports and was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. In health, he enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, camping, and kayaking. He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying history and the Bible.

Michael came to faith in Jesus after his first wife passed, although as a young child he would listen to the weekly radio broadcast of the Billy Graham Crusade. He was very active at Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale and later served as a deacon at Cornerstone Bible Church. He always wanted to know how you were doing and took the time to really listen and ask questions. He had the gift of encouragement.

The family wishes to thank the staff of LIFE Geisinger Scranton for all their help and support during the last years of Michael's life.

A dinner to celebrate his life will be held on January 18, 2022 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Bible Church, 520 Marion Street, Browndale. Please RSVP to page@yogainternational.com if you plan to attend.
