Zackery Alan Canfield of Equinunk, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by his family on March 20, 2022, at the age of 27.

He was born on November 22, 1994, at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the oldest son of Ron (Bam) Canfield and Denise Canfield. Zac leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Alan Conrady, and paternal grandparents Ron and Martha Canfield. His parents, Ron (Bam) Canfield and Denise Canfield. His brother Brandon Canfield and two nephews Devin and Greyson. And long-time girlfriend Bianca Tortorelli. Zackery is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Marva Lee Conrady.

Zac lived his life on his own terms. He could enter a room and brighten it with his smile, attitude, or just his presence. He had "it". He was a free spirit who lived in the present. He never conformed to the social "norms". He listened but did not take advice. However, he was not a rebel. He was not rebelling against anything or anyone. He just did things on his own terms. He was a leader. He had followers. He was the first to lend a helping hand to someone in need. The last to let anyone know when he was in need.

Zac worked in various trades always willing to learn and never worried about getting his hands dirty. He easily lived two lives in just 27 years. He was given the gift to make the most of every day and that is something we can all remember about him. Zac made friends so easily and was true to those he held close. He would support them and make them happy. He made his family happy.

Even in his final moments, he achieved his goal of being a hero. He died with the dignity and respect he deserved. Zackery chose to donate his organs to help others as his final wish. He achieved his goal of making us proud. Our lives will never be the same. He made sure of that.

The world is not as bright without you in it, but your shining spirit will always live within us. Forever in our hearts and always loved more than you ever knew.

A service for all family and friends who wish to pay their respects was held at the Smith Hill United Methodist Church in Honesdale, PA (285 Smith Hill Road) on Saturday, March 26, 2022. The viewing was held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Smith Hill United Methodist Church at the service or by mail to:
